FLEUR - The Sister Brand

dried flower studio warwickshire florist

Why Fleur and the relationship between leather?

I have always loved Flowers and it was something I grew up being surrounded by. Growing up surrounded by Latvian and Lithuanian culture embracing nature was at the forefront. It was every year during Midsummer festival I have fond memories of dressing up and spending hours hand selecting and arranging, and creating our flower crowns to celebrate summer solstice. I suppose to this day the notion of being surrounded by nature is what took me on this path to where Fleur is today.  It was during my time on maternity I undertook a series of workshops one of which was with Blossom and Dill that this expanded my comprehension of what could be part of a bouquet. I was hooked and spent my days in the garden, going at weekends to national trusts, open gardens and watching Monty Don! I thought to myself is this a sign on age! Living in the countryside was my playground and this became almost an addiction to learn and embrace and watch nature unfold. As my love was so strong for florals I wanted to share this love so I held a small very low key Midsummer craft and garden sale, back in 2017.  This was the beginning of what is now known as Fleur.

However Fleur took a backseat whilst my leather purses became a hit and leather craft took over. It was during the first few years I only had time to put my energy in it working on two of my friends weddings and Christmas wreath orders, whilst also juggling the leather side and one new born and another on the way!

It was then on a trip to Bordeaux, France I loved seeing these vibrant dried blooms that did not reflect dried florals of the the past. I loved the idea of a long-lasting alternative to cut flowers, flowers that are harvested in full bloom and preserved naturally to retain their soft and vibrant appearance for up to a year.

As it was on this trip to France and my little girl is also called Fleur. Fleur was the obvious choice in name so last year I took the plunge to use half the studio to be dedicated to florals. Last year was a rollercoaster of a year, we were overwhelmed with orders and we are expanding our range and growing continuously. We hope you follow our journey and thank you for you support.
